The website is a pursuit initiated to provide a platform, to all the kashmiri
pundits who have been displaced from Kashmir and settled in other parts of the
country, so that they can interact with each other and get in touch with each
other when needed. In late 1989 and early 1990, Kashmiri Pandits had to flee the
Kashmir valley because of being targeted by militants. By the turn of the last
century, only 6.4% of Kashmiris were Hindus. The US Department of State reports
that, according to the Indian National Human Rights Commission, the Kashmiri
Pandit population in Jammu and Kashmir dropped from 15 percent in 1941 to 0.1
percent as of 2006. The aim is to provide a database of all such kasmiris who
have been displaced and settled, thus if any of our brothers wishes to get in
touch with each other, with their lost and dear ones. This is going to serve as
a global e-directory for all the Kashmiri Pundits. Its simple, just register on
the directory by filing the simple forms and you would be updated on the
directory soon, where you would be connected to several of our brothers as well.
Also ask your friends and family to register in order to catalyze the pursuit
initiated herein.
